4/9/2025 Teacher Assisting in Botanical Gardens Lesson

Teacher Assisting: Botanical Garden Lesson 4/9/2025 UNCC Botanical Gardens We did the same lesson as last semester at the botanical gardens only this time I because I had already done the assignment before Jessica Hawkins asked me to teacher assist the lesson again. I told them that they have to get 3 items as a group so that they could write or make a story together as a group. I gave them a few minutes but also creative freedom for any grade level so that they can feel creative and they aren't limiting themselves. But this experience to me feels more motivating and encouraging because when I was in high school, I used to teacher assist in a dance studio which made me feel invigorating and insightful. I still felt the teacher in me when I became a teaching assistant for Teaching Fellows Seminar, and I hope to keep feeling this way until I become a teacher.

3/26/2025 Compassion Fatigue Lesson

Compassion Fatigue Lesson 3/26/2025 Cato College of Education On Wednesday we had a lesson about compassion fatigue with what it is and how it can affect you. Compassion fatigue is where if you help a lot of students by stretching yourself like if you give extra tutoring to 20 kids to help them when it is almost unrealistic and stretching yourself thin. Then the next day you start to feel tired and less likely to be able to teach. That's why it's a good idea to try a medicine wheel which is a way to organize ways to help yourself in ways. That day we had a medicine wheel that we had organized and used it to try and find activities and ways to help calm our nerves as well as getting us focused for class. I think it will be a useful tool or a reference to be able to help if you feel like you're stretching yourself out too much. It's also important that you have some time for yourself so that you can relax a little bit. It may be important to find different way to help y...

10/30/2024 Botanical Gardens of UNCC for Teaching Fellows Seminar

Nature Walk for Teaching Fellows Seminar 10/30/2024 2:30 to 3:45 UNCC Botanical Gardens               We went on a nature walk around the botanical gardens and went to gather things to try and make a story which is something that we could use as future teachers as like an outdoor activity. It was for Teaching Fellows Seminar but there wasn't a guest speaker, and it would be great way to use the outdoors to our advantage.     If I were also to use an analogy to describe the gardens, then I would say the botanical garden is full of students who are ready to each blossom on their own time and way and each section is their grade level while they may have their similarities, they can still have some subtle differences. I could plan on using nature as a stress-free activity or if I want to include a math lesson into it, I could try to have them use the petals as x and each number of flowers for algebra or something. I never did much outdo...

10/28/2024 UNCTF Professional Development: AI in the Classroom and Bridging the Gap for ML Learners

Professional Development: AI in the Classroom and Bridging the Gap for ML Learners 10/28/2024  6:45 PM to 8:30 PM Fretwell 114          This was when Ms. Bogle had an interactive presentation where we learned about AI in the classroom and what we could do with our technology to help our students more. It was held so that we could have an opportunity to get our professional development in and so that we could learn more about how we can use technology for our classrooms. Teaching Fellows had sponsored the event in UNC Charlotte with Ms. Bogle. I attended this event so that I could learn more about how I could utilize AI in middle school and so that I could get some hours in professional development.       This professional development was able to give me more information on how AI could be used like as a way to ask questions, more strategies for students, and even a way that students can interact with AI for learning. I wasn't challenge...
